About this role

Simmons Adaptive offers flexible resourcing solutions for clients facing changing marketplace demands. This interim role supports an asset management client for 6 months, requiring attendance at the London office 4 days a week. As a consultant, you will deliver high-quality work backed by Simmons & Simmons standards.

You will review relevant regulatory developments and update the business accordingly. Participate actively in compliance-driven projects, draft and maintain policies and procedures. Manage cross-border matters, SMCR-related work, and implement regulatory changes.

You will be fully supported by a sponsoring Partner and client team, with regular engagement encouraged. Access firm resources, know-how, and training opportunities is provided. Work autonomously while collaborating with the wider team in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in a Legal or Compliance role with strong investment team and funds experience
  • Deep understanding of the EMEA regulatory environment applied to private assets and funds
  • Self-starter able to confidently support on a broad mix of commercial in-house matters
  • Able to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines with excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workloads
  • Able to work autonomously but also collaborate as part of the wider team
  • Relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing relevant regulatory developments and updating the business as appropriate
  • Actively participating in compliance driven projects
  • Drafting and maintaining policies and procedures
  • Managing cross-border matters and potentially SMCR related work
  • Implementing any regulatory change
