The Corporate Banking Senior Analyst in UK Industrials focuses strongly on Metals & Mining clients with some exposure to Shipping & Aviation. This intermediate-level role provides bespoke capital structure expertise and corporate finance advice to clients. The Analyst works with Senior Bankers on business origination and execution across Citi’s product set to drive revenue and manage risk.

Day-to-day involves developing client pitch materials tailored to needs, leading execution of episodic and strategic financing transactions, and assisting with cash management, trading, FX, loan activity, and debt/equity capital markets. Responsibilities include risk assessment, credit analysis, monitoring financial results, peer analysis, and preparing projections. The role demands evaluating public filings, research reports, business plans, and financial forecasts for strategic analyses.

The Analyst partners closely with relationship teams, product specialists, Investment Bank, and partners in Capital Markets (DCM, ECM, Acquisition & Project Finance, Leveraged Finance), Markets (Commodities, Derivatives, FX), and Treasury & Trade Solutions. Provides analytical support for the Industrials portfolio and fosters relationships across Citi’s platform. Direct client engagement occurs at CFO and Treasury levels to position as a sector specialist.

Requirements

  • Strong focus and expertise in Metals & Mining (M&M) sector
  • Experience providing bespoke capital structure expertise and corporate finance advice
  • Knowledge of Citi product set including Capital Markets, Markets, Treasury & Trade Solutions
  • Proficiency in credit analysis, financial projections, and sensitivity analysis
  • Ability to assess operating performance, liquidity position, and industry trends
  • Skills in developing client pitch materials and executing financing transactions
  • Capacity for direct client engagement at CFO and Treasury levels

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Bankers to provide overall relationship management support and industry expertise for the wider sector
  • Serve as member of deal team for origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions involving global clients
  • Stay abreast of market and industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape
  • Conduct risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships, including periodic review of financial results, liquidity, peer analysis, and projections
  • Develop client pitch materials tailored to client needs and lead execution of episodic transactions and financings
  • Assist with day-to-day cash management activities, trading initiatives, foreign exchange, loan activity, debt and equity capital markets
  • Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
  • Provide analytical support, risk assessment, and monitoring of existing and new relationships in the Industrials portfolio
