About this role

We are looking for a driven individual to join the J.P. Morgan Development Impact Advisory team as an Associate in London. The team, part of Development Finance & Advisory, focuses on sustainable development-oriented financing and mobilizes capital for UN Sustainable Development Goals. It provides subject matter expertise to global clients including corporates, sovereigns, and state-owned entities on impact strategies aligned with industry standards.

As an Associate, you will support business development, operations, transaction execution, investor engagement, KPI tracking, pipeline management, and strategy. The role sits within the Corporate & Investment Bank. You will partner with coverage bankers to originate SDG-aligned transactions and participate in client pitches.

Day-to-day involves executing transactions end-to-end with coverage and product partners, embedding impact considerations throughout. Provide expertise on sustainable development across geographies per industry standards. Develop documentation and materials articulating development impact for stakeholders.

Support investor calls, research impact-focused investors, and map the investor universe. Design systems and processes for team objectives, consulting finance, technology, legal, and compliance. Assist with events, trainings, and seminars in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility and adaptability
  • A team player enthusiastic about impact/sustainability, with an interest in emerging markets
  • Exceptional analytical, research and project management skills
  • Excellent problem solving, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in final outputs
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong presentation abilities and capacity to summarize key concepts
  • General understanding of financial markets, as well as knowledge of sustainability and impact trends, frameworks, and terminology

Responsibilities

  • Partner with coverage bankers to originate a pipeline of transactions with measurable development impact and participate in client pitches for SDG-aligned opportunities
  • Work with coverage and product partners to execute transactions end-to-end from pitch through marketing to close, embedding impact considerations
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients across geographies on sustainable development impact in line with industry standards
  • Develop clear documentation and presentation materials articulating anticipated development impact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support investor calls and meetings, including preparation of pitch materials and compilation of key information
  • Research and monitor investors focused on impact and map out the investor universe including institutional investors, impact investors, and development finance institutions
  • Support the design and implementation of systems and processes for team objectives, consulting with finance, technology, legal, and compliance
  • Assist with the organization of events, trainings, and seminars as needed
