The Senior Finance Business Partner joins the Commercial Finance team to support Marketing and Growth. This role owns end-to-end financials and financial controls for the business area.

You will manage the P&L and Balance Sheet to deliver on the financial plan while supporting strategic financial decisions. The position covers all aspects of financial performance and planning. Building business cases and presenting investment choices form a core part of the work.

The Commercial Finance team focuses on challenging the business to improve performance through data analysis. You will engage with growth levers and profitability drivers to deliver insights on acquisition performance, CAC, LTV and payback. The environment encourages genuine curiosity about products, marketing and operations.

Opportunities exist to contribute to the overall Monzo equity story and support development of financial analysts. The role helps represent commercial dynamics in forecasts and performance explanations. This position offers scope for strategic impact within a growing finance function.

Requirements

  • Experience managing P&L and Balance Sheet to deliver financial plans
  • Ability to build business cases and present investment choices for debate
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse data and deliver insights on performance drivers
  • Comfort supporting strategic financial decisions and challenging business performance
  • Experience leading bottom-up forecasting and planning cycles
  • Skill in explaining actual performance to create appropriate narrative

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact between the business and finance
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the Growth and Marketing budget, including all costs and new customer growth forecast
  • Build trusted relationships with the business leadership team and engage with growth levers
  • Drive and optimise commercial performance through actionable insights on acquisition, CAC, LTV and payback
  • Hold business leadership to account for forecast delivery and anticipate future risks and opportunities
  • Lead preparation of bottom-up forecasts, both short and long range, working with the FP&A team
  • Understand and explain actual performance to support FP&A and Investor Relations narrative
  • Support the build of a highly competent team of financial analysts with clear development objectives
