About this role

The Corporate Banking Associate is an intermediate-level professional responsible for leading the planning of investment strategies and solutions for major market clients. This role coordinates with the Institutional Banking team to support the UK FIG team's origination and execution efforts. It focuses on efficiently deploying the firm's capital while evaluating and managing risk.

Daily activities include partnering with Senior Bankers for relationship management support and cross-selling products by identifying customer needs to generate revenue. Associates assist with cash management, trading initiatives, vendor finance, foreign exchange, loan activity, debt capital markets, share repurchases, and interest rate/equity derivatives.

The role involves evaluating public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses. Professionals stay abreast of FIG market and industry trends, best practices, and the competitive landscape.

This position operates within Citi's Institutional Banking Job Family Group and Corporate Banking family. It is a Certified Role requiring assessment for fitness and propriety, including honesty, integrity, financial soundness, competence, and capability through interviews, checks, and annual declarations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a FIG or Corporate Banking related area
  • Strong credit skills, credit background and knowledge of Citi’s credit policies and product suite
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • FCA certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Bankers to provide overall relationship management support
  • Support Bankers in cross-selling full spectrum of products and services by identifying customer needs to generate revenue
  • Assist with day-to-day cash management activities, trading initiatives, vendor finance, foreign exchange, loan activity, debt capital markets efforts, share repurchase and interest rate/equity derivatives
  • Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
