The European Energy Transition & Natural Resources team operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This varied role covers evolving Energy Transition sub-sectors and established corporate renewable, energy, and resources clients. Financing spans project, corporate, acquisition, greenfield, or brownfield structures.

The team reflects CIBC’s global values of diversity and inclusiveness. Active across Energy (corporate and structured), Energy Transition (hydrogen, CCUS, e-mobility, biofuels, storage, nuclear), Power & Utilities (Renewables), and Natural Resources (mining). It sits within one of the most active North American Banks in the European market.

Requirements

7+ years’ work experience across European Structured Finance
Focus on Energy, Power and Project Finance
Strong commitment to and level of knowledge in sustainability and transition
Experience with Energy Transition sub-sectors including hydrogen, CCUS, e-mobility, biofuels, storage, nuclear
Knowledge of Power & Utilities (Renewables) and Natural Resources (principally mining)
Familiarity with financing across greenfield, brownfield, and all capital structure levels

Responsibilities

Play a leading role in primary transaction execution
Support the wider origination activities of Head of Team
Source opportunities across European Energy, Energy Transition, Power & Utilities, and Natural Resources sectors
Execute financings in forms including project finance, corporate, or acquisition finance
Structure deals at all levels of the capital structure (OpCo, MidCo, HoldCo)
Underwrite transactions as a core component of offerings
Cover sub-sectors such as hydrogen, CCUS, e-mobility, biofuels, storage, nuclear, renewables, and mining
