Working as a Summer Intern in Japanese Corporate Banking offers the possibility to observe and experience the whole business development process with Japanese customers located in the UK, from client marketing to credit analysis and interaction with support functions like operations. Our programme provides unique insight into commercial banking for Japanese clients. Actively support relationship managers to manage corporate client portfolios and drive business growth.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Interest in Japanese corporate clients and commercial banking
  • Analytical skills for credit analysis and borrower ratings
  • Understanding of corporate finance and structured finance products
  • Familiarity with transaction banking services
  • Ability to prepare business proposals and client materials
  • Knowledge of internal banking procedures and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Observe and experience the whole business development process with Japanese customers in the UK from client marketing to credit analysis
  • Prepare business proposals and materials, potentially attend client meetings with relationship managers
  • Perform regular credit analysis including creating credit applications and borrower ratings
  • Collect information to monitor credit portfolio
  • Handle operations while complying with internal procedures
  • Coordinate with relevant divisions such as Operations, Markets, Transaction Banking, and Credit to respond to client requests
  • Join internal meetings with support functions
