About this role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and contribute to our Investment Banking business. J.P. Morgan's Investment Banking Group provides a full range of services to clients across the EMEA region, including leading firms. The primary focus is delivering creative solutions for mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt capital raising.
Investment Banking groups are organized to provide product, sector or country expertise, with teams collaborating across sectors. Local office teams based in London and respective countries focus on the purchase, sale and merger of public or private companies. You may also be involved in de-mergers, joint ventures and strategic reviews, covering regions like UK, Nordics, Benelux, France, Iberia, Germany/Switzerland, Italy and UAE.
As an Analyst, you will be a key player in business strategy and execution, participating in the full cycle of transactional execution. This includes preparing marketing pitches, reviewing financial models and analysis, and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations. The role is open for opportunities in Product, Industry and Coverage.
Team members become experts in their product, sector or country through collaboration. You will interact daily with senior team members, client management, product teams, global sector teams, equities and research departments. This position supports client coverage through regular dialogue and leadership in deal execution.
Requirements
- Prior investment banking experience (internship or 1-3 years relevant experience)
- Proficient financial modelling, valuation, analytical and numeracy skills
- Ability to react well to pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
- Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
- High level of attention to detail, proactivity and time management
- Comfort in and commitment to an inclusive team environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate concepts concisely and defend their validity
Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects, including client communication and advisory team coordination externally and within the bank
- Develop content for strategic meetings with clients
- Conduct detailed valuation analysis and financial analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, LBO analysis and transaction structuring
- Prepare presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums and other materials for corporate finance transactions or strategic client dialogue
- Conduct daily deal execution and project management, taking leadership in supporting client coverage by maintaining regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
- Interact with senior team members and client management teams daily to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
- Liaise with J.P. Morgan product teams, global sector teams, equities and research departments
