About this role
This role supports Global Corporate Banking by driving efforts to understand, challenge, and continuously improve risk and control design and execution. As a member of the global Business Operations team, you will provide key control and operational risk management oversight. You will identify areas for control enhancement and process improvement while acting as the single point of contact for functional control partners.
You will serve as the first line of defense for Global Corporate Banking, preventing, detecting, and monitoring operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. In support of operational excellence, you will meet client commitments and drive strategic priorities to future-proof the business. You will own key risk and control topics including strategic vision, process, governance, training, and guidance.
The role fosters a proactive risk and control culture, identifying opportunities to initiate new control capabilities or enhance existing programs. Examples include Regulation K, Cross Border, and Legal Entity Signing Authority. You will report directly to the Head of Control Programs for GCB and partner across Business Operations, front office, and cross-business peers.
You will facilitate strong connectivity across the GCB Business Operations team, sub-lines of business, functional partners, and governance teams. Build relationships with banking teams, credit teams, and key partners in Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk across geographies. Perform data analysis and prepare presentations for senior management to drive initiatives.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent with background in program, project or control-oriented role (Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Strategy, Business Management, Consulting)
- Ability to work independently across various levels in the organization and influence and drive change
- Ability to think critically, develop structure, and solve problems in a pragmatic and balanced way with a solution-oriented mindset
- Organized and able to balance and prioritize multiple deliverables with a strong desire to drive execution
- Experience in operational risk management, control programs, or regulatory compliance in banking
- Strong stakeholder management skills across front office, control functions, and geographies
- Proficiency in data analysis and preparing materials for senior management
- Knowledge of banking regulations such as Regulation K and Cross Border controls
Responsibilities

- Lead and engage stakeholders across the business in key projects and initiatives within GCB and control functions
- Facilitate interaction and strong connectivity across GCB Business Operations, sub-lines of business, functional partners, and governance teams
- Build and maintain relationships with banking teams, credit teams, and key partners across business and functions like Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk
- Perform data analysis to support and drive key initiatives and projects
- Prepare and deliver presentation materials to senior management and stakeholders
- Identify and develop operational processes, implement control points, build procedures for emerging areas, and support audit and regulatory inquiries
- Lead top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation
