About this role
We’re seeking a Risk Analyst to join the Group Risk team at CFC. This position involves close partnership with the Head of Enterprise Risk Management to enhance risk practices across the organisation in a practical and commercial manner. The opportunity provides significant variety and high visibility within the business.
You will take ownership of the GRC platform, currently Decision Focus, and play a central role in tracking risk events and controls. Working directly with stakeholders across the group, you will ensure data accuracy while turning information into clear and practical reporting outputs.
You’ll join a collaborative team with a strong focus on continuous improvement. The environment encourages input that genuinely shapes how the risk framework evolves and how risk is understood and applied day to day across the business.
This role offers the chance to influence risk culture through training, guidance and insight-led reporting. You will help develop risk appetite metrics and maintain oversight of controls while contributing to the delivery of the Risk Plan.
Requirements
- Experience in a risk, compliance or governance role, ideally in insurance or financial services
- Experience working with a GRC platform (Decision Focus would be a distinct advantage)
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage and interpret data with confidence
- Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and building credible relationships
- A solid understanding of risk management principles and control environments
- Well organised, able to balance multiple priorities and keep things moving
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain risk in a practical, accessible way
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on improving how things are done
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the GRC tool (Decision Focus), including configuration, access and ongoing optimisation
- Ensure risk data is accurate, up to date and useful, and turn it into clear, practical reporting
- Support the capture, tracking and oversight of risk events, including escalation and remediation
- Manage action tracking to drive accountability and follow-through across teams
- Work closely with first and second line teams to maintain strong oversight of risks and controls
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure controls are well designed and working effectively
- Support risk reporting cycles and the development of risk appetite reporting including KRIs
- Help manage the Group’s policy framework, including renewals and annual attestations
