The Corporate Banking Department (London) covers Japanese Corporate Subsidiary Banking clients predominantly in the UK. The Relationship Manager leads a portfolio, taking a proactive approach to manage all aspects including client coverage, risk management, and compliance. This role involves writing credit papers and collaborating with Product Partners and other MUFG branches.

Work closely with senior Relationship Managers on business development, origination, and strategic activities. Partner with Credit and Compliance stakeholders to meet internal requirements and ensure effective risk control. Drive client-centric enhancements to MUFG’s product offerings while supporting operational needs.

Requirements

  • Experience effectively managing corporate client portfolios in banking
  • Strong understanding of credit policy and operational procedures in financial services
  • Proven ability to write credit papers and handle credit approval processes
  • Knowledge of Japanese corporate subsidiaries and UK banking coverage
  • Skills in originating product solutions through collaboration with product teams
  • Competence in ongoing credit risk analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with compliance and risk frameworks in corporate banking
  • Ability to develop and execute client account strategies

Responsibilities

  • Lead responsibility for a portfolio of Japanese Corporate Subsidiary Banking clients
  • Manage client portfolio to meet commercial and risk goals
  • Collaborate with Product Partners to identify solutions meeting client needs
  • Partner with Credit and Compliance stakeholders to meet internal requirements
  • Assist senior Relationship Managers with origination and strategic business development
  • Write credit papers and effectively manage the credit approval process
  • Monitor and take actions to manage credit risks across the business
  • Regularly share information and ideas with MUFG international branches
