The European Infrastructure team works in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role promises to be varied and interesting, covering the breadth of the ever-growing infrastructure market. It offers an evolving learning curve requiring enthusiasm and dedication.
The Associate uses a broad range of analytical and research skills to support Corporate Banking professionals. Assist senior colleagues in execution and origination of transactions, widening Financial Sponsor and Corporate Borrower relationships across Europe. Build close working relationships with Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Credit Risk Management.
The Infrastructure team reflects CIBC’s global values of diversity and inclusiveness. This role provides excellent enhancement for individuals with minimum 3-4 years’ work experience in the European Infrastructure space. Team members are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience within the European Infrastructure space
- Broad range of analytical and research skills
- Ability to review due diligence materials and legal documentation
- Experience preparing financial models for lending and underwriting opportunities
- Skills in quantitative and qualitative client analysis
- Knowledge of infrastructure market dynamics
- Strong interface skills with external advisers (technical, commercial, financial, insurance, legal)
Responsibilities
- Review due diligence materials and legal documentation, preparing and coordinating questions/comments and interfacing with external advisers
- Assist in preparing detailed documents including business proposals, memoranda, credit and business approval requests, loan recommendations
- Assist in the preparation of pitchbooks for structuring co-ordinator roles
- Assist on execution of structuring co-ordinator mandates including liaising with banks, external legal counsels, DD advisors, preparing marketing materials
- Review and develop models for analysing lending/underwriting opportunities or executing/pitching for structuring co-ordinator roles
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative client analysis and industry research
- Assist with preparation of presentations and liaise with colleagues across Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets and Trading Floor
- Attend investor presentation days and client meetings supporting senior colleagues
