Working as a Summer Intern in Japanese Corporate Banking Division offers the possibility to observe and experience the whole business development process with Japanese customers located in the UK. This includes client marketing to credit analysis as well as interaction with support functions like operations. Your role will actively support relationship managers to manage a portfolio of corporate clients.
Our Japanese corporate banking business is in a global leading position for Japanese clients, offering a comprehensive banking product suite from Corporate Finance and Structured Finance through to Transaction Banking. Coordinate with relevant divisions such as Operations, Markets, Transaction Banking, and Credit to respond to client requests. Join internal meetings with them under appropriate guidance.

Requirements
- Pursuing university studies in finance, economics, business, or related field
- Strong analytical skills suitable for credit analysis and borrower ratings
- Interest in Japanese corporate banking and client relationships
- Ability to prepare business proposals and client materials
- Proficiency in handling operations and internal procedures
- Capability to coordinate across divisions like Operations and Credit
Responsibilities
- Observe and experience the whole business development process with Japanese customers located in the UK
- Prepare business proposals and materials, potentially attend client meetings with relationship managers
- Perform regular credit analysis including creating credit applications and borrower ratings
- Collect information to monitor credit portfolio
- Handle operations while complying with internal procedures
- Coordinate with relevant divisions to respond to client requests
- Join internal meetings with Operations, Markets, Transaction Banking division, Credit division
