About this role

Scotiabank offers a 10-week Corporate Banking Summer Internship programme commencing mid-June to end of August 2025 in London. Aimed at students in their penultimate year keen to learn with curiosity in financial markets. Interns gain hands-on experience rotating through industry sectors building knowledge in relationship management and credit-related activities.

Assist team members analysing term sheets, due diligence materials and preparing credit presentations for senior management review. Support monitoring assigned portfolios including annual reviews and compliance certificates. Research companies, assets and transactions using public and private sources for meaningful analyses.

Work closely with deal teams on live transactions providing timely client support. Participate in marketing efforts distributing pitches alongside Directors and MDs. Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture in day-to-day activities within a stimulating challenging environment.

Join a centralised programme with weekly speaker series from bank leaders, peer intern presentations and social networking events. Deliver a final presentation to Corporate Banking leaders. Engage in CSR activity raising money or tackling challenges for chosen charities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist team members with analysis of term sheets and due diligence materials
  • Prepare credit presentations and recommendations for senior management and London Credit Committee
  • Assist with monitoring assigned portfolio including annual reviews and compliance certificates
  • Research companies, assets and transactions using public and private information sources
  • Work closely with deal teams on live transactions and provide timely client support
  • Participate in marketing efforts with Directors/MDs including distribution of marketing pitches
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture inform day-to-day activities
