About this role
You will provide day-to-day management of RBC’s global high-risk Capital Markets portfolio, focusing on minimising losses while maximising strategic client retention. As a member of a specialised team, you’ll handle complex, high-risk accounts through proactive relationship and risk management.
Your role balances delivering tailored solutions that meet RBC’s risk standards with preserving long-term client relationships. Collaboration with internal partners and external professionals will be critical to resolving challenges and driving business opportunities.
You will champion continuous improvement in client interactions, taking ownership of issues at first contact. Proactively referring clients to RBC-wide expertise and delivering value-added financial advice are key to maintaining strong relationships.
This permanent, full-time role requires 4 days in the 100 Bishopsgate office. You will have the opportunity to develop expertise in high-risk portfolio management and financial restructuring while contributing to strategic client retention.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in high-risk portfolio management, credit risk, and financial restructuring.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to balance risk mitigation with client retention goals.
- Experience in managing distressed or high-risk credit portfolios.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex financial agreements and terms.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day high-risk Capital Markets portfolio to minimise losses and maximise strategic client retention.
- Champion continuous improvement in client interactions and take ownership of issues at first contact.
- Negotiate terms and agreements to protect RBC’s short- and long-term financial interests.
- Address collateral/data issues, lending excesses, and compliance requirements including AML and fraud prevention.
- Manage portfolio health via timely reviews, borrower performance monitoring, and write-off processing.
- Participate in Watchlist reviews and share restructuring insights via SLAS database updates.
- Establish file strategies within 45 days of transfer to the team.
- Build partnerships with Risk and Field teams to identify high-risk situations early.
