The Corporate Banking Senior Associate in Aviation provides bespoke capital structure expertise and corporate finance advice to clients. This intermediate-level role involves working with Senior Bankers across EMEA on business origination and execution, focusing on episodic and strategic financing transactions. The objective is to deliver content, drive revenue through cross-selling Citi's platform, and manage risk effectively.

Day-to-day responsibilities include relationship management of the EMEA Aviation portfolio, covering major Airlines and Lessors. Associates develop client pitch materials, lead transaction execution, and handle analytical support with risk assessment for existing relationships. They also assist with cash management, trading, FX, loans, and capital markets activities.

The role offers exposure to multiple relationship teams and product specialists throughout Citi, including Investment Bank partners in DCM, ECM, Acquisition Finance, Leveraged Finance, Markets, and Treasury & Trade Solutions. Close collaboration occurs across EMEA for origination and execution. Direct client engagement happens at CFO and Treasury levels, building sector specialist reputation.

Requirements

Expertise in Aviation industry with focus on EMEA Airlines and Lessors
Experience providing capital structure advice and corporate finance to clients
Proficiency in risk assessment, credit analysis, and financial projections
Knowledge of Citi product set including DCM, ECM, Leveraged Finance, Markets, and Treasury & Trade Solutions
Analytical skills for monitoring operating performance, liquidity, and industry trends
Ability to originate and execute financing transactions across EMEA
Direct client engagement experience at senior finance levels

Responsibilities

Partner with Senior Bankers to provide relationship management support for EMEA Aviation clients and industry expertise for the wider sector
Serve as member of deal team for origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions across EMEA
Stay abreast of market and industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape
Conduct risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships, including review of financial results, peer analysis, and financial projections
Develop client pitch materials tailored to client needs and lead execution of episodic transactions and financings
Assist with day-to-day cash management activities, trading initiatives, foreign exchange, loan activity, debt and equity capital markets
Provide analytical support, risk assessment, and monitoring of existing and new relationships in the Industrials portfolio
Develop relationships with clients at CFO and Treasury levels as a sector specialist
