About this role
CockroachDB makes it easier for companies to build and scale apps, helping innovative companies tackle problems head-on. Account Executives target and close new business with today’s most innovative companies in the capital markets space. You’ll nurture inbound leads and prospect into select accounts using a value-oriented sales methodology.
Drive opportunities through the entire sales cycle from pipeline generation to closure, focusing on use cases spanning customer data and marketing activation. Become an expert in CockroachDB’s product capabilities, business impact, and competitive advantages. Build long-lasting relationships with customer needs at the center.
Leverage cross-functional teams including Sales Development, Legal, Engineering, Security, Marketing, and Product to navigate complex sales cycles. Maintain and own relationship maps for your territory. Lead compelling presentations to audiences from C-level executives to individual contributors.
In your first 30 days, learn CockroachDB and pitch proficiently while building cross-functional relationships. After three months, develop account strategy and mapping with key leader relationships. By six months, achieve 3x quota in pipeline and at least 3 POCs in process.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience selling enterprise solutions and demonstrated success in software sales within the database ecosystem or adjacent technologies
- Extensive experience in the capital markets/quants space
- Experience leading large and complex sales cycles within the C-Level at Fortune 500 companies, specifically within financial services
- A consultative and value-based approach to selling software for cloud, on-premise and hybrid deployments
- The ability to assess customer needs and build valuable, trusted relationships at all levels
- An interest and experience leveraging AI tools to improve your sales process
- A track record of overachievement and hitting sales targets
- Expert time management and resource skills
Responsibilities
- Close new logos and expand existing business within an assigned territory, meeting and exceeding sales goals
- Leverage and coordinate cross-functional internal teams to efficiently navigate complex sales cycles
- Maintain, build and own specific relationship maps for your territory
- Lead compelling presentations of CockroachDB’s product and vision to a broad range of audiences
- Provide timely and accurate forecasts and clear visibility on sales and revenue performance
