About this role
Join William Blair, the Premier Global Partnership. The Fund Placement team advises private market managers throughout the capital raising process, including transaction execution and delivery of fundraising services to clients and prospects. Perform extensive fundraising advisory services and complete due diligence activities.
Work closely with project management and investor coverage teams to advance projects, convey relevant investor updates, and present findings to clients. Take ownership of deal admin tasks such as maintaining deal trackers, scheduling investor calls, and updating Salesforce. Manage client data rooms and anticipate potential deal issues in real time.
Actively participate in client meetings and internal discussions while partnering with global coverage teams. Demonstrate curiosity and understanding of various private market strategies and broader fundraising markets. Evaluate prospective fundraising clients and provide advice on strategy, structuring, timing, investors, and legal terms.
Mentor summer interns and teach subsequent analyst classes, imparting best practices. Identify improvements to processes for efficiency. Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in a dynamic global firm.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Prior investment banking or fundraising (placement agent or investor relations) experience required; previous experience as an Analyst, or equivalent, strongly preferred
- Internship or prior work experience in financial services industry preferred
- Proven track record in university studies required
- Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
- Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Deep, sophisticated understanding of accounting and finance
- Sound judgement
