About this role
The Banker is a senior-level position responsible for assisting clients with corporate requests, including raising funds in capital markets and providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and financial transactions. It coordinates with the Institutional Banking team and serves as a trading intermediary. The objective is acting as strategic advisor for operations, investment strategies, and capital raising.
Lead origination, structuring, and execution of transactions while fostering global relationships. Manage credit risk and allocate capital prudently with senior credit officers. Provide treasury solutions like cash management, trade finance, FX, loans, debt markets, and derivatives for clients.
Partner with Institutional Client Groups to execute transactions and drive client planning with product-agnostic solutions. Meet revenue goals using Citi’s full ICG spectrum while ensuring risk, compliance, and ethical standards. Proactively leverage trends to propose client ideas and content.
Identify new business opportunities for balanced portfolio growth. Recruit and develop diverse talent, mentoring junior bankers. Assess risks considering firm reputation, compliance, and sound ethical judgment.
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- MBA or Master's Degree in business preferred
- Demonstrated collaboration with corporate banking stakeholders including coverage teams, risk and products
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking business, products, regulations, and credit approval process
- Previous knowledge or experience with technology, telecoms and media clients
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, negotiation, presentation, sales, client-relationship building, analytical and credit skills
- Experience originating, structuring and executing transactions and financings
- Experience with large global corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management and trade finance
