About this role
At Tandem, we're evolving our Internal Audit strategy to build an in-house team delivering assurance through trusted business partnerships. This key senior hire, Audit Senior Manager for Conduct and Operational Risk, reports to the Head of Internal Audit. Deliver high quality assurance and advisory work supporting effective risk management.
Lead the Conduct and Operational Risk Internal Audit team and relevant audit plan elements. Develop and maintain strong cross-functional senior relationships across the Bank. Provide independent risk-based assurance, advice, insight, and foresight to Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee.

Oversee quality delivery of audit activities, including review supervision and reporting outputs. Increase function visibility by building credibility through a strong partnership model. Support the Head of Internal Audit in achieving strategic objectives while attending key governance forums.
Requirements
- Senior audit professional experience in financial services internal audit
- Expertise in conduct and operational risk frameworks
- Proven leadership of internal audit teams
- Strong skills in audit planning and risk universe development
- Experience building senior stakeholder relationships in banking
- Ability to deliver risk-based assurance and advisory services
- Knowledge of supporting strong control culture and risk management
Responsibilities
- Lead the Conduct and Operational Risk Internal Audit team, including performance management, coaching and developing the team
- Oversee quality delivery of the Conduct and Operational Risk elements of the audit plan, including review supervision, oversight and quality of audit reporting outputs
- Provide support, steer, and challenge to the business on outcomes and actions arising from audit activities
- Maintain and evolve the Audit risk universe, taking a lead role in audit planning processes to ensure a dynamic and relevant audit plan
- Increase the function’s visibility and build credibility with the business by developing a strong partnership model across the Bank, leading relationships with senior management
- Support the Head of Internal Audit in delivering against the strategic objectives of the audit function
- Attend key governance forums

- FTE up to £95,000 salary
- Up to 20% bonus
- Flexible part-time pattern, preferred 4 days or 29 hours per week
- Hybrid work from Blackpool, London or Cardiff offices
- Some travel between offices on occasions
