About this role

The Investment Banking Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for providing bespoke strategic advisory services to clients within the Financial Technology (FinTech) sector. The Senior Analyst works with Senior Bankers across EMEA in business origination and execution across Citi’s product set. Focus is on episodic and strategic financing transactions, including M&A and capital markets access.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing client pitch materials tailored to meet FinTech client needs and leading execution of episodic transactions and financings. Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses specific to financial institutions. Provide analytical support, risk assessment, and monitoring of existing and new relationships within the FinTech portfolio.

The role works very closely with multiple relationship teams throughout Citi and product partners including Capital Markets. Foster and leverage ongoing relationships across the EMEA region. This position is dedicated to FinTech companies and asset managers.

Develop in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the FinTech business and clients’ priorities to identify appropriate marketing opportunities. Drive revenue by cross-selling the Citi platform while efficiently deploying the firm's capital and evaluating and managing risk. Champion the delivery of Corporate Finance initiatives specifically within the FinTech sector.

Requirements

  • Ideally 1 year + experience of working in a FinTech focused investment banking role or similar
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter prepared to take the initiative to follow issues through, whilst exercising judgment as to when to seek assistance
  • Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating financial forecasts and business plans specific to financial institutions

Responsibilities

  • Member of deal team for the origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions involving FinTech clients across EMEA
  • Stay abreast of market and industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape relevant to the financial services sector
  • Develop client pitch materials tailored to meet FinTech client needs
