Perform research and financial modeling, apply core valuation methods, and complete due diligence activities at the direction of the Investment Banking team lead. Work closely with client staff to advance projects, gathering necessary information, describing financial modeling methodology, and presenting results directly related to scope of analysis.

Responsibilities include performing extensive financial/valuation analyses, building financial models using comparable companies, precedents and discounted cash flow. Draft management presentations and assist in proposals to highlight analysis results and William Blair's advantages. Participate in client meetings and research industries to target clients.

Provide training and mentorship to summer interns and less experienced Analysts. Seek opportunities to streamline processes and support client relationship development by understanding needs and challenges. Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Internship or prior work experience in financial services industry preferred
  • Proven track record in university studies required
  • Requirement to successfully complete Level 3 exams with FCA within 90 days of commencing employment (for UK and EU only)
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and finance
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Perform extensive financial/valuation analyses to value debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions and capital raising transactions
  • Build financial models to value potential and actual clients and/or industries using comparable companies, precedents and discounted cash flow
  • Perform due diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and live transactions
  • Draft management presentations to highlight financial analysis and research results
  • Assist in the development, production and delivery of proposals and presentations to clients and prospects
  • Participate in client meetings and drafting sessions
  • Research industries or sectors to target certain clients and leverage learnings across deals
  • Mentor summer interns and invest in teaching subsequent classes of analysts
