Join SumUp's UK Compliance team to ensure safe, ethical operations in line with regulatory expectations across Europe. Take the lead on compliance reviews and thematic testing across UK and EU areas like PSD2/PSD3, Consumer Duty, and AML/CFT obligations. Dive deep into emerging regulation and perform gap analyses to drive actionable improvements.

Perform compliance testing and sampling from planning to reporting, analysing findings to prepare remediation plans. Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Risk to embed regulatory insight early. Contribute to quarterly compliance reporting with insights, trends, and root-cause analysis for management and the Board.

Collaborate in an experienced team evolving the compliance framework to stay proportionate, scalable, and future-ready. Build strong partnerships shaping policy updates and enabling new feature launches in UK and EU markets. Create a fintech environment where doing the right thing is everyone's business.

Requirements

  • Strong background in compliance, risk, or regulatory roles
  • Delivered compliance monitoring or thematic reviews and can operate independently
  • Understand UK and/or EU financial services regulation
  • Analytical thinker with strong judgment and attention to detail
  • Confident in communicating complex topics clearly
  • Build strong relationships and challenge the business constructively
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and commercially aware

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute thematic compliance reviews across UK and EU regulatory requirements
  • Perform compliance testing and sampling from planning, scoping, execution, documentation, and reporting
  • Analyse findings, prepare practical remediation plans, and track delivery cross-functionally
  • Prepare and contribute to quarterly compliance reports with insights, trends, and root-cause analysis
  • Maintain and enhance the regulatory horizon scanning register for new regulations
  • Conduct gap analyses against FCA, CBI, and other European authorities' guidance
  • Support policy and procedure updates to keep documentation current and proportionate
  • Partner with Product and Operations teams to enable new feature launches and market expansions
