Join NatWest Group as a Middle Office VP in Capital Markets. Take responsibility for validating complex trades booked by traders and managing queries on trade bookings and risk positions. Build strong connections with colleagues, stakeholders, and teams across the bank through considerable interaction.

Apply risk management principles to mitigate operational risks and improve processes while achieving service level targets. Review securitisation structures pre-close to ensure booking on NatWest Markets platforms, providing solutions and guidance to structuring teams. Handle post-close lifecycle management by building guides, preparing controls, and ensuring adherence.

Support front-to-back structurers, trading, and sales teams within the Markets business. Ensure accurate trade bookings flow to finance teams and P&L statements. Provide insight internally and externally to challenge business decisions, enhance customer experience, and stay connected with industry developments.

Operate in a hybrid working model, working from home some of the time and spending two days per week in the London office. Expect an initial three-month training period with daily office attendance for collaboration. Represent the organisation on industry groups where required.

Requirements

  • Experience of trade booking and validation
  • Product knowledge of bonds, repos, interest rate swaps, basis swaps, and cross currency swaps
  • Knowledge of bonds, repos, loans, deposits, forward rate agreements, foreign exchange, and overnight index swaps
  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
  • Background in settlements, middle office, or confirmation teams
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and VBA
  • Degree in finance with post-qualification experience or related banking sector experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Validate complex trades booked by traders
  • Manage and resolve queries from traders on trade bookings and risk positions
  • Review securitisation structures pre-close to ensure they can be booked on NatWest Markets platforms
  • Provide solutions and guidance to structuring teams where structures cannot be booked
  • Manage lifecycle of securitisation structures post-close, building guides and preparing controls
  • Provide support to front-to-back structurers, trading, and sales teams
  • Ensure trade bookings flow accurately to finance teams and P&L statements
  • Provide insight internally and externally to support business decisions and enhance customer experience
