The Financial Crime Model Risk Validation Analyst is an experienced role with day-to-day responsibility for executing financial crime model validation activities. This involves working in accordance with the established validation plan and methodology. Requirements
- Technically proficient in SQL and Excel, with high level of skill in both a fundamental requirement; tests conducted during interview
- Knowledge of how databases work at a deep level
- High level of proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Word
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral, with ability to liaise and collaborate with Compliance and Business Unit 1LoD model teams and senior stakeholders
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies between data, documents or statements provided by delivery and model teams
- Experienced within financial crime with understanding of risks inherent in asset management and/or insurance sectors and relevant regulatory knowledge
- Knowledge of AML, Fraud, Customer Risk Rating, Sanction Screening models
- Knowledge of model performance testing, back-testing, sensitivity analysis and benchmarking; knowledge of AI/ML applied to detect Financial Crime
Responsibilities
- Execute financial crime model validation activities in accordance with the established validation plan and methodology
- Ensure that financial crime model validation documentation is complete, consistent, accurate, updated and approved
- Register and follow up on financial crime model risk validation findings, identified risks and agreed actions
- Escalate and present financial crime model risk validation findings issues to senior management and third parties in a clear and easy to understand manner
- Provide expert analysis and advice relating to financial crime model risk validation
- Support the maintenance of methodologies for 2LoD assurance and financial crime model validations
- Perform other tasks and activities as required from time to time
