About this role

The Banker is a senior-level position responsible for assisting clients with corporate requests, including raising funds in capital markets and providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and financial transactions. This role coordinates with the Institutional Banking team and acts as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective is to serve as a strategic advisor supporting day-to-day operations, investment strategies, and capital raising.

Day-to-day involves leading origination, structuring, and execution of transactions while managing credit risk and allocating capital prudently with senior credit officers. Provide treasury and corporate finance solutions like cash management, trade finance, FX, loans, and derivatives for UK TMT clients. Proactively leverage industry trends to propose tailored financial solutions and content on market developments.

Operate within a collaborative environment partnering with ICG teams, coverage, risk, and products to execute transactions and drive client planning. Identify new business opportunities to balance portfolio growth and meet revenue goals using Citi’s full spectrum of products. Ensure all solutions comply with risk, ethical standards, and regulatory changes.

Growth opportunities include recruiting and developing diverse talent, mentoring junior bankers, and demonstrating leadership in negotiations and client relationships. Foster global relationships inside and outside the organization to enhance transaction execution. Appropriately assess risks to safeguard Citigroup’s reputation, clients, and assets.

Requirements

  • Current or recent direct experience with UK Technology, Telecoms and Media clients
  • Demonstrated collaboration with corporate banking stakeholders including coverage teams, risk, and products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking products, regulations, and lending/credit approval process
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, negotiation, presentation, sales, client-relationship, analytical, and credit skills
  • Experience originating, structuring, and executing transactions and financings
  • Experience with large global corporate clients, capital markets, derivatives, credit, cash management, and trade finance
  • Strong understanding of capital management and ability to allocate capital across the portfolio
  • Consistently clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Partner with ICG teams to execute transactions and drive client planning with product-agnostic solutions
  • Identify and lead new business opportunities for balanced client portfolio growth
  • Recruit and develop diverse talent and mentor junior bankers
