The Principal Solution Engineer works directly with the account sales team and channel partners to support customers through evaluation and selection of Snowflake.

You will present Snowflake’s technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers. Hands-on work includes demonstrating value from demo through proof of concept to design and implementation while creating technical champions in accounts.

You will collaborate with other sales engineers, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to improve products and marketing. The role also involves representing Snowflake at industry events and working with ecosystem partners on joint architectures and account strategies.

You will proactively contribute to Account and territory plans while engaging the broader internal and external ecosystem. The position keeps you at the cutting edge of Snowflake technology and the evolving data landscape.

Requirements

  • Experience working with modern data technology such as dbt, Spark, containers, DevOps tooling, orchestration tools, and Git
  • Solution engineering or solution architect experience in a SaaS environment or relevant industry experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering
  • Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos
  • Understanding of and experience with data architecture, data analytics, and cloud technology
  • Hands-on experience with SQL
  • Ability to solve customer-specific business problems and apply Snowflake’s solutions
  • Customer-facing skills to effectively communicate our vision

Responsibilities

  • Present Snowflake’s technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers
  • Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle
  • Create and develop technical champions in accounts to drive deals and achieve a technical win
  • Present Snowflake roadmap features and functionality to customers and prospects
  • Maintain a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and position Snowflake accordingly
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake’s products
  • Represent Snowflake at industry or customer events
  • Work with ecosystem and implementation partners to build joint architectures and support account strategies
