About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Audit Senior Manager to join our FS Insurance Audit team. You will manage and deliver the largest and most complex audit engagements to a high standard of quality, from planning through to completion. This includes overseeing your own portfolio of large and complex audited entities.

You will agree audit timetables, brief the audit team including specialists, monitor budgets, and supervise the KPMG audit process. Manage and nurture stakeholder relationships with senior level staff at audited entities throughout the engagement. Act as the initial point of contact for your audited entities.

Lead teams by directing and overseeing junior members, ensuring compliance with KPMG Audit Methodology, reviewing work, and providing coaching and mentoring. Project manage all aspects of audit delivery including timelines, team briefings, supervision, and reviews by Directors and Partners. Handle performance management for a small number of employees.

Take on a departmental role facilitating internal operations such as finance, technology, quality, or people. Demonstrate technical core competencies including knowledge of accounting standards, use of audit tools, and professional scepticism. Identify and resolve complex audit issues while communicating with entities and specialists.

Requirements

  • Understands relevant technical accounting and financial reporting standards, regulations, and accounting literature for FS Insurance
  • Stays current on industry and specialised knowledge, leveraging KPMG methodologies including ESG Assurance
  • Uses firm-approved audit tools and innovative technology solutions to increase audit quality and productivity
  • Applies professional scepticism, objectivity, and independence to identify and resolve potential audit issues
  • Experience managing large and complex FS Insurance audit engagements
  • Ability to communicate on complex technical matters with audited entities and KPMG specialists
  • Proficiency in supervising KPMG audit process and ensuring methodology compliance

Responsibilities

  • Perform the planning, coordination, and control of audit engagements in accordance with KPMG requirements
  • Direct and oversee the work of junior team members, reviewing audit work and providing coaching
  • Project manage audit delivery including timelines, team briefings, supervision, and senior reviews
  • Act as the initial point of contact for audited entities throughout the year
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to facilitate audit execution
  • Manage engagement finances including budgeting, fee negotiation, and cash collection
  • Identify, research, and resolve the most complex audit issues
  • Prepare engagement deliverables such as audit committee papers and attend board meetings
