As Executive Director, Ratings Advisory, lead the development and delivery of credit ratings advisory solutions for European corporate and infrastructure clients. Provide expert guidance on credit ratings strategy, capital structure optimization, and rating agency engagement. Support origination and ongoing relationship management activities.

The CIBC Corporate Banking Europe team operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, supporting clients across Infrastructure, Energy, Mining, and broader Corporate sectors. The team is diverse and inclusive, reflecting CIBC's global values. Ratings Advisory plays a strategic role in capital markets activity, client decision-making, and risk management.

Enhance CIBC's reputation as a leading provider of ratings advisory services. Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior staff on ratings and credit analysis. Represent the Bank at industry events and client forums.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in credit ratings advisory, corporate banking, project finance, or related fields within the European market
  • Deep understanding of rating agency methodologies and credit analysis
  • Expertise in credit ratings strategy and capital structure optimization for corporate and infrastructure clients
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure, Energy, Mining, and broader Corporate sectors
  • Experience in supporting capital markets activity, debt advisory, and lending transactions
  • Proficiency in rating agency engagement and anticipated outcomes analysis
  • Familiarity with European regulatory requirements and risk management in banking

Responsibilities

  • Lead ratings advisory engagements, acting as primary point of contact for clients on ratings strategy, anticipated rating outcomes, and rating agency methodologies
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their strategic objectives and capital markets needs
  • Support origination and execution of capital markets, debt advisory, and lending transactions with ratings analysis on proposed structures
  • Provide in-depth analysis of credit profiles, sector trends, and market developments, advising clients and internal teams on ratings implications
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets, Investment Banking, and Product Partners to deliver integrated advisory solutions
  • Ensure all advisory recommendations meet CIBC’s professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal risk guidelines
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior staff, sharing expertise in ratings, credit analysis, and market best practices
  • Enhance CIBC’s reputation as a leading provider of ratings advisory services, representing the Bank at industry events and client forums
