The Head of Europe ETF Capital Markets Solutions leads all primary and secondary market activities across State Street Investment Management’s European ETF platform. The role holds end-to-end accountability for liquidity outcomes, market quality, and trading efficiency while shaping how the platform competes in an evolving market structure landscape.

Beyond platform oversight, the position advances the firm’s ETF-as-a-Service offering by delivering comprehensive capital markets support to external clients. This includes advising on go-to-market strategy, coordinating onboarding of authorized participants and market makers, and designing efficient primary market structures.

Day-to-day work centers on managing secondary market quality, overseeing creations and redemptions, and maintaining senior relationships with exchanges and liquidity providers. The role also drives automation of markets oversight through data and technology initiatives while partnering with Product, Investments, and Trading teams.

This position strengthens ETF liquidity and market quality across the European platform. It simultaneously expands the ETF-as-a-Service capability, reinforcing State Street’s competitive positioning through consistent, data-driven capital markets leadership.

Requirements

Deep expertise in ETF primary and secondary market mechanics and European market structure
Proven ability to manage liquidity outcomes and market quality metrics versus peers
Experience building relationships with market makers, authorized participants, and exchanges
Strong understanding of contractual market making arrangements and quoting obligations
Track record of improving primary market efficiency and reducing friction in creations/redemptions
Ability to deliver data-driven diagnostics and market commentary to senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

Own and lead secondary market quality across ETFs, including spreads, depth, and execution consistency relative to peers
Oversee primary market activity, including creations/redemptions, basket construction, and AP engagement
Build and maintain senior relationships with market makers, APs, exchanges, and liquidity providers
Develop a contractual market making strategy that improves market quality and sales effectiveness
Drive automation and scalability of ETF markets oversight through data and technology initiatives
Lead capital markets support for external ETF clients across Europe, including exchange listing strategy and AP onboarding
Guide clients on ETF market structure, primary market design, basket strategy, and trading considerations
Support ETF launches with pre-launch liquidity planning and post-launch oversight
