This London-based Portfolio Manager will oversee benchmark-relative active quantitative equity strategies. Day-to-day duties include monitoring client portfolios, approving trades, and collaborating with researchers to deploy enhancements to our investment process.

We foster a collaborative, intellectually curious environment where ideas are tested and diverse perspectives are welcomed. Our hybrid work model requires on-site presence three days a week in the London office, supporting meaningful teamwork.

This role offers the opportunity to lead client and prospect meetings, communicating portfolio performance and our systematic process. You will also participate in internal investment policy discussions, contributing to decisions that shape client outcomes.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree, Ph.D. preferred, with a distinguished academic record in economics, finance, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, or a similar discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in finance, preferably asset management, investment consulting, or academia, with emphasis on quantitative investing and risk management
  • Ability to perform deep reviews of equity portfolios, generating ideas and recommendations to improve systematic portfolio management processes
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team-first, collegial, and result-oriented environment
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills (English required; other languages welcome)
  • Strong programming background required, e.g., in Python
  • Ability to conduct meetings with clients and prospects
  • Willingness to travel 35–50% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage client portfolios in collaboration with other portfolio managers, including monitoring portfolios and approving trades
  • Work with researchers and analysts to identify and deploy enhancements to the investment process
  • Lead meetings with clients, consultants, and prospects to communicate and explain portfolio performance, positioning, and Acadian’s systematic investment process
  • Participate in internal investment policy discussions and decisions
  • Answer ad-hoc inquiries from clients, consultants, and prospects
