About this role

As a Financial Crime Manager, support the Senior Financial Crime Manager and Head of Financial Crime Prevention in strengthening the Firm’s financial crime framework. This role within the Second Line of Defence provides oversight, assurance and analytical support across financial crime controls. Contribute to AML/CTF, sanctions, tax evasion, ABC and fraud risk management processes.

Review KYC/CDD files including high risk and EDD cases, escalating concerns appropriately. Identify weaknesses in control design or execution and support remediation tracking. Gather, analyse and interpret data to assess risk exposure and control effectiveness.

Work closely with senior stakeholders, the MLRO and 1LoD Financial Crime Operations. Operate within the Risk department in a transforming business that is modernising and becoming more customer centric. Play a key role in ensuring the Business meets regulatory expectations and operates within its risk appetite.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, tax evasion, ABC and fraud risk management
  • Experience reviewing KYC/CDD/EDD files in financial services
  • Familiarity with Second Line of Defence oversight functions
  • Ability to analyse financial crime data and assess control effectiveness
  • Understanding of UK regulatory expectations for financial crime
  • Skills in conducting horizon scanning and gap analyses
  • Experience providing financial crime guidance to operational teams
  • Proficiency in producing management information for governance

Responsibilities

  • Support 2LoD oversight of 1LoD financial crime processes, raising challenge where required
  • Review Know Your Customer (KYC)/customer due diligence (CDD) files, including high risk and enhanced due diligence (EDD) cases, escalating concerns appropriately
  • Identify weaknesses in control design or execution and support remediation tracking
  • Assist in maintaining and updating financial crime policies, standards, and procedures
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and support gap analyses
  • Support delivery of financial crime business wide risk assessments
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret data to assess risk exposure and control effectiveness
  • Produce clear and accurate management information (MI) and reporting for senior management and governance committees
