About this role

As the lead deal principal in the Capital Markets team, you will source, structure and execute key funding lines for Octopus Electric Vehicles' substantial and rapidly growing fleet of electric vehicles. This senior role demands deep expertise in structured finance, securitisation, and debt markets.
You will help lead the execution of funding lines, focusing on asset-backed securitisation and other structured debt solutions for the EV fleet. Originate, structure and execute securitisation facilities, both public and private, to ensure consistent and cost-effective funding. Manage transaction documentation, negotiations, and compliance with covenants and reporting requirements.
Develop and strengthen relationships with institutional investors like banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and pension funds, plus rating agencies and service providers. Collaborate closely with broader teams, business heads, legal, and compliance to align funding with business goals. This cross-functional role supports sophisticated funding needs during significant growth.

Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Capital Markets, Banking, Structured Finance, Debt Advisory, alternative lending or similar, with focus on asset-backed lending/securitisation and forward flow transactions
- Proven track record in structuring and executing securitisation programs, ideally in automotive, leasing or similar asset class, including reviewing standard legal documents
- Deep technical knowledge of debt products, financial modelling, risk management, and credit rating agency processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to articulate complex financial strategies
- Experience managing projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Ability to collaborate across sales, marketing and operational teams to align financing with business goals
- Passion for the transition to Net Zero and electric vehicles
