The Global Fixed Income Institutional Portfolio Manager is an integral member of the Fixed Income investment organization.

The role sits within portfolio management teams focused on Global Multi-Sector, Global Credit, Global Sovereign, and European public fixed income strategies. It represents these teams in direct engagements with clients, prospects, consultants, and gatekeepers worldwide. The position is based in MFS’ London investment office, reporting to the Head of Institutional Fixed Income.

Integrate into portfolio management teams with credibility and respect, serving as the voice of the client. Provide transparency on investment philosophy, process, and portfolio strategy, while sharing global macroeconomic insights. Lead team preparation for client engagements and deliver marketplace insights to enhance investment processes.

Contribute to portfolio strategy discussions and partner with product, RFP, and distribution teams on collateral and initiatives. Support development of expanded investment capabilities and a unified IPM organization. Align investment efforts to client objectives through ongoing feedback and best practices.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience communicating, collaborating, and developing strategic relationships with institutional asset owners, consultants and gatekeepers
  • Robust capability to deliver in-depth transparency for investment process, strategy viewpoints and portfolio positioning
  • Refined ability to contextualize within a global macroeconomic framework
  • Multi-dimensional knowledge of global and regional fixed income markets, including rates and credit
  • Broad written, verbal and client-facing investment communication skills
  • Capability to effectively tailor engagement across a range of investment knowledge

  • Partner with product and RFP teams to develop investment collateral and client deliverables
  • Collaborate across distribution teams to promote strategic initiatives
