Join us as a Capital Modelling Risk Analyst to take your career to the next level with an international market leader. This role sits within the Capital Modelling and Risk Analytics Team responsible for the AIG Group model used for capital, risk management and portfolio management at firm-wide level.

The team maintains Europe (AESA) and UK Solvency II Approved Internal Models while acting as a centre of excellence that supports additional models across Canada, Japan and AIRCO in Bermuda. You will work across all Insurance Risk areas including Nat Cat, Man-Made Cat, Non-Cat, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risks.

Day-to-day activity covers model parameterisation, updating, testing and review of results together with investigation of existing methodologies and development of new approaches. You will communicate model output and changes to stakeholders and governance committees while supporting business partners in Actuarial or Finance on volatility analysis, capital allocation and reinsurance effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or an Actuarial student making progress towards their qualification.
  • Willing to pursue membership in a recognised actuarial society.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn.
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Coding experience in Python, R or other programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Perform model parameterisation, updating, testing and review of results while investigating existing methodologies and developing new ones to meet business requirements.
  • Communicate model output and changes to key stakeholders and governance committees as required.
  • Support business partners in Actuarial or Finance with uses of the capital model including analysis on volatility, capital allocation and reinsurance effectiveness.
  • Support the development of new processes or improvement of current processes for greater efficiency.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts from Insurance Risk areas to meet timelines for model updates, documentation and capital solutions for Major Model Changes and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure logs, reports and documentation are maintained and available for internal and external review.
  • Support coordination of audits and validation of project work and model changes while ensuring ongoing quality assurance and checking.
