About this role

LHV Bank is a UK-licensed bank serving retail, SME, and BaaS clients, and we are seeking a Senior Anti-Financial Crime & Onboarding Analyst to support our AFC efforts and client onboarding within SME Lending. This role is central to maintaining robust financial crime controls as the bank continues to grow under its full UK banking licence.

Day-to-day, you will support customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and transaction monitoring to ensure compliance with AML and KYC regulations. You will review customer documentation including corporate structures, source of funds, and source of wealth evidence, and utilize third-party screening tools for sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks.

Reporting to the AFC & Onboarding Manager, you will work closely with the Head of SME Product, Risk and Financial Crime, Lending Managers, Operations, and Compliance. As a subject matter expert, you will oversee the quality and accuracy of due diligence performed by the frontline team and assist in preparing MI on financial crime risk.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in KYC, AML, and financial crime compliance within banking or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, and PEP checks
  • Experience using onboarding and monitoring systems along with third-party screening tools
  • Ability to review and assess complex corporate structures and source of funds/wealth documentation
  • Understanding of UK regulatory expectations for financial crime controls
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards in due diligence
  • Experience working in a first-line financial crime or onboarding function

Responsibilities

  • Support customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and transaction monitoring to ensure AML and KYC compliance
  • Conduct AML/KYC reviews on new and existing customers in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Review and assess customer documentation including corporate structures, identification, source of funds, and source of wealth evidence
  • Utilise internal onboarding and monitoring systems, together with third-party screening tools for sanctions, PEP, adverse media, and background checks
  • Assist with quality assurance of onboarding activities to ensure consistency and high standards
  • Support process improvements to maintain strong control standards while enabling business growth
  • Prepare regular MI updates on financial crime risk for the AFC and Onboarding Manager
