We're seeking a Compliance Officer for our Mortgages and Financial Planning pillar to deliver pragmatic guidance.

The role supports clear, risk-based advice protecting clients, colleagues, and the business commercially. You'll adhere to the Compliance Monitoring Plan, conduct quality assurance on adviser files for mortgages, credit, and protection. This includes thematic reviews, audits, complaints handling, and financial crime checks like suspicious activity investigations.

Requirements

  • Experience in financial services, especially mortgages
  • Knowledge of FCA principles and regulations
  • Understanding of the requirements under The Consumer Duty
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a structured, regulatory driven and process orientated environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • CeMap or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and complete monitoring and operational tasks in the Department’s Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Conduct Quality Assurance of Adviser files including Regulated and Non-Regulated Mortgages, Consumer Credit, Pure Protection
  • Provide face-to-face feedback where appropriate
  • Write and implement thematic reviews
  • Produce Compliance Audit Reports regarding audits conducted
  • Handle Complaints from investigation through to conclusion
  • Produce Management Information
  • Complete FCA reports on RegData and update FCA Directory
