We're building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. In this role, provide leadership in improving the overall control environment within CIBC and lead multi-skilled audit teams on large and highly complex audits in Capital Markets areas. Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners.

Identify and fully understand key business processes, their inherent risk, and the control environment. Scope and plan risk-based audits, assess relevant processes and controls, and provide an independent opinion on their design and operating effectiveness in line with industry best practices.

Identify business control weaknesses, objectively assess severity and materiality, and work with management to develop action plans with realistic solutions. Rely on strong cross-functional relationships across the organization to ensure audits are comprehensive, relevant, and actionable.

Provide effective communication on risks and issues with influence to create positive outcomes. Foster a positive team environment that enhances audit guidelines, practice development, efficiency, and audit experience. Play an advisory role in matters related to risk assessment and controls.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets related businesses, products, risks, processes and controls
  • Minimum 5 years proven and progressive experience in Audit, Capital Markets, product Control, or equivalent
  • Experience in Private Credit, Collateral
  • Professional designation/certification such as CPA, CFA, FRM, CIA or equivalent (asset)
  • Ability to provide independent opinion in accordance with industry best practices
