We are seeking a Conflicts & Compliance Lawyer to join our Regulatory Team. Pinsent Masons’ General Counsel’s Office enables safe global practice with expert risk, regulatory and legal guidance. Partner closely with lawyers and business teams across the UK, Europe and Asia to ensure confident, integrity-driven operations. Influence risk management practices across multiple jurisdictions while working with senior partners and stakeholders.

Provide advice on potential conflicts of interest for new clients and matters, analysing data in conflicts management systems like Intapp Open. Support firmwide compliance with regulatory requirements, including client terms and engagement arrangements. Contribute to projects such as system upgrades, new office openings and global policy development.

Deliver training and guidance to colleagues, including new joiner sessions and practice-specific risk training. Act as an escalation point for the Conflicts Search Team with supervision and quality assurance. Work closely with Deputy General Counsel (Risk & Regulatory) and Senior Conflicts Manager on complex issues.

Requirements

  • Qualification as a solicitor with 3–5 PQE (open to applications outside this range)
  • Prior experience advising on conflict issues in a commercial law firm, or strong commercial awareness to transition into conflicts and compliance
  • Knowledge of the SRA conflict rules
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive and organised approach, with ability to work at pace and manage competing demands
  • Collaborative style and willingness to support, guide and mentor junior colleagues
  • Exposure to US-style conflicts rules and/or SRA regulatory frameworks (ideal, not essential)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to key projects such as system upgrades, new office openings and development of global policies and processes
  • Deliver training and guidance to colleagues across the firm, including new joiner sessions and practice-specific risk training
  • Act as an escalation point for Conflicts Search Team, offering supervision, feedback and quality assurance
