Pico seeks an In-House Counsel for its London office to provide legal advice and support on commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters. The role supports internal clients in a fast-paced, rapidly expanding company. You will work as part of a dynamic global Legal team.

Day-to-day duties include structuring, negotiating, and drafting commercial agreements like NDAs, license agreements, SLAs, and exchange agreements from customer and vendor perspectives. You will assess regulatory frameworks, manage corporate processes for jurisdictional expansion, and advise on governance. Additional support covers HR agreements and general transactions.

This hands-on role demands flexibility across legal and compliance matters in a roll-up-your-sleeves atmosphere. Expect strong business acumen for practical solutions amid tight deadlines. The position suits proactive individuals comfortable with varied responsibilities.

The role is office-based with occasional travel and extended hours to cover EMEA, Americas, and APAC jurisdictions. It offers exposure to cross-border business in a global financial technology firm.

Requirements

  • 4+ PQE years relevant experience in corporate/commercial practice, preferably with in-house experience in fast-paced environment
  • Solicitor in good standing under laws of England and Wales
  • Law degree from a well-regarded law school
  • Experience with cross-border business, including Americas and APAC
  • Experience in technology product procurement, especially market data and exchange connectivity
  • Knowledge of hardware and software licensing agreements
  • Notary certification (highly desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Structure, negotiate, and draft commercial and technology agreements including NDAs, hardware/software/services license agreements, maintenance agreements, SLAs, financial exchange agreements, telco agreements, outsourcing agreements, office leases, professional services agreements, and system access agreements
  • Design, implement, and update template client agreements and negotiate client agreements
  • Assess applicability of various regulatory frameworks, communicate and action compliance obligations
  • Manage corporate processes for expansion to new jurisdictions and internal company secretarial activities
  • Advise on corporate governance practices
  • Support human resources by advising on and drafting agency, contractor, and employee agreements and internal HR processes
  • Handle general corporate transactional matters
