About this role
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a 12-month FTC covering maternity leave. This role supports the organisation through rapid growth, transformation, and strategic change. Ideal for a commercially minded HR leader thriving in fast-paced, scaling environments navigating complexity and ambiguity.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, including board-level stakeholders, contributing to people strategy and organisational effectiveness. Provide expert, hands-on HR support across the UK business with a strong focus on Employee Relations. Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle while partnering closely with the M&A team.
Day-to-day involves acting as escalation point for ER cases like disciplinary, grievance, and performance management. Lead complex cases, ensure UK employment law compliance, and manage exits including redundancy and settlement agreements. Collaborate with legal advisors to mitigate employment risks.
Partner with M&A for UK acquisitions covering due diligence, TUPE, and integration, plus oversight of international activity. Manage HR for the Bermuda entity and oversee a small HR Advisory team. Foster continuous improvement, agility, and high performance in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Commercially minded HR leader thriving in fast-paced, scaling environments
- Confident navigating complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities
- Strong expertise in Employee Relations (ER) and UK employment law
- Experience acting as trusted advisor to senior executives and board-level stakeholders
- Hands-on experience managing complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, and performance
- Knowledge of M&A support including due diligence, TUPE, and integration
- Ability to support international HR activities and manage small teams
- Comfortable switching between strategic and operational HR delivery
Responsibilities
- Act as the escalation point for ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance management, and exit processes
- Provide expert guidance to managers and HR colleagues on UK employment law, internal policies, and best practice
- Lead and directly manage complex ER cases, engaging in operational HR activity where required
- Advise on and support performance management cases, including long-term capability and underperformance
- Manage and oversee employee exits, including redundancy, settlement agreements, and dismissals
- Partner with the M&A team to provide HR support for UK-based M&A activity, including due diligence, consultation, TUPE, and integration
- Provide oversight and HR input into international M&A activity
- Provide management oversight of a small HR Advisory team
