The position involves oversight of AML and broader Financial Crime legislation compliance, monitoring and submission of SARs, and regulatory reporting. Responsibilities include reporting to Boards, Risk Committees and Senior Management on financial crime matters, acting as contact point for risk events. It ensures appropriate identification and impact assessment of financial crime risks.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of AML and financial crime regulations in financial markets
  • Experience holding or eligible for SMF17 Money Laundering Reporting Officer role under UK SMCR
  • Expertise in regulatory reporting and suspicious activity reporting (SARs) to UK authorities
  • Background in financial crime oversight within post-trade and digital markets sectors
  • Ability to conduct financial crime risk assessments and evaluate control effectiveness
  • Familiarity with 2LOD financial crime functions in global financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of Group policies for countering financial crime risks

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of entities’ compliance with AML and broader Financial Crime legislation
  • Hold Senior Management Function (SMF17) for Money Laundering under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime
  • Ensure accountability for oversight of compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures for countering Financial Crime risk
  • Monitor, review and externally submit SARs
  • Deliver regulatory reporting to external regulators and bodies on Financial Crime matters
  • Report to Entities’ Boards, Risk Committees and Senior Management on financial crime transparency and oversight
  • Act as contact point for financial crime matters, risk events and higher risk scenarios
  • Oversee Financial Crime risk assessments to identify risks, assess control effectiveness and mitigate impacts
