As an AML Analyst, you will conduct client due diligence on new and existing clients to ensure the firm’s legal and regulatory obligations in the UK, Paris, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong are met. This includes identifying clients, obtaining evidence of existence and ownership structures, and completing risk assessments.
You will work closely with the Senior AML Manager, Directors of non-US Risk & Compliance, and Money Laundering Reporting Officers across multiple offices. Routine liaison with partners, associates, clients, and the Conflicts team ensures all new client and matter opening requirements are completed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate (or equivalent) to begin a career in the compliance sector. You will play a key role in identifying potential risks to the firm and assisting with projects on adherence to legal and regulatory obligations outside the US.
Requirements
- Law degree or equivalent qualification
- Ability to identify and escalate potential risks to the firm
- Experience conducting client due diligence and using public information sources such as Companies House or similar registries
- Strong attention to detail for completing accurate risk assessments
- Proficiency in liaising with internal stakeholders and external clients to obtain necessary documentation
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering regulations and compliance obligations in the UK or other relevant jurisdictions
Responsibilities
- Conducting client due diligence, including identifying clients and obtaining information to evidence their existence and ownership structures using sources such as Mint Global, Companies House, Capital IQ, Lexis/Nexis Corporate Affiliations, and the internet
- Liaising with partners, associates, and clients to obtain information and documentation not available from public sources
- Completing risk assessments for both clients and matters
- Identifying high-risk clients and escalating issues to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in the relevant office
- Liaising with the Conflicts team to ensure all new client and matter opening requirements are completed
- Advising on ongoing monitoring of clients and matters in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Dealing with ad hoc AML queries and assisting with projects relating to the firm’s adherence to legal and regulatory obligations outside the US
