The Risk and Audit Manager (Operations) sits within Operations Service Resilience and Risk, defining strategic risk direction and ensuring alignment across teams for maximum value.

Lead the Operations Risk Management Framework to identify, govern, and resolve risks proactively. Act as primary liaison with Group Risk, aligning processes, governance, and reporting. Ensure fit-for-purpose controls manage Group Technology risks within the Corporation’s risk appetite.

Design and oversee the Operations Policies and Standards Framework with regular reviews. Manage end-to-end Operations audits, including engagement, scheduling, and action tracking. Support Operations Leadership with governance updates and regulatory responses.

Develop Management Information reporting on risk, audits, and controls for decision-making. Collaborate with stakeholders to address emerging risks and remediation. Contribute to broader Operations initiatives in governance, communications, and financial analysis amid shared values of bravery and unity.

Requirements

  • Working collaboratively across multi-party teams and stakeholders to deliver high quality outputs
  • Experienced in forming constructive partnerships and mutually beneficial solutions with third parties
  • Experience of implementing sustained process and culture change
  • Expertise in risk management frameworks and governance alignment with Group Risk standards
  • Proficiency in managing internal and external audits end-to-end
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR)
  • Ability to develop MI reporting on risk, audits, and controls

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Operations Risk Management Framework, ensuring all relevant risks are identified, proactively governed, and effectively managed through to resolution
  • Act as the primary liaison between Operations and Group Risk, aligning risk management processes, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms
  • Ensure robust and fit-for-purpose controls are in place within Operations to support effective management of Group Technology risks
  • Design, implement, and oversee the Operations Policies and Standards Framework, ensuring comprehensive and current policies with regular review
  • Manage all Operations-related audits (internal and external), including auditor engagement, scheduling, project management, and action tracking
  • Define and oversee Operations’ compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR)
  • Support the Operations Leadership Team with updates for risk governance forums and regulatory information requests
  • Develop and deliver Management Information (MI) reporting on risk, audit outcomes, and control effectiveness
