The Global Payment team delivers TikTok payment solutions including acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, and reconciliations for a smooth user experience. The Global Payment Compliance team provides policy, oversight, and support leveraging industry expertise. TikTok seeks an experienced financial crime compliance officer to serve as MLRO equivalent overseeing AML/CTF for the local entity.

In this senior role, act as primary focal point for AML/CTF compliance amid financial transactions on the social media platform. Ensure platform safety from financial abuse while maintaining seamless user, creator, and merchant experiences. Support the TikTok AML/CTF Officer with day-to-day risk management per EU/UK regulations.

Report to the TikTok AML/CTF Officer in a control-function environment requiring regulatory judgment and familiarity with payments regimes. Engage regulators like FCA, Central Bank of Ireland, and law-enforcement such as UK National Crime Agency. Coordinate responses to inspections, audits, and supervisory engagements.

Adapt global policies to local laws, conduct Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments focusing on social media risks, and identify emerging typologies in digital payments. Drive enhancements to controls for customer due diligence, sanctions screening, and suspicious reporting. Build Compliance by Design for new monetization features.

Requirements

  • Strong regulatory judgment and deep familiarity with EU and UK payments regulatory regime
  • Proven experience engaging with relevant law-enforcement authorities
  • Experience in AML/CFT oversight for financial transactions in non-traditional financial institutions
  • Knowledge of FCA, Central Bank of Ireland, and other EU authorities requirements
  • Expertise in suspicious activities reporting, regulatory interactions, and compliance reviews
  • Ability to conduct Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments tailored to social media platforms
  • Pragmatic approach to calibrating controls for product, transaction, and customer risk profiles

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) equivalent for UK and EU entities with AML/CFT oversight per local requirements
  • Act as primary point of contact for regulators, law-enforcement agencies including UK National Crime Agency, and external auditors on AML/CFT matters
  • Lead responses to regulatory inspections, supervisory reviews, internal audits, and assurance activities with timely remediation
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc AML/CFT risk reporting and advice to Senior Management and governance committees
  • Conduct and maintain local entity’s Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment focusing on social media, product, customer, and geographic risks
  • Adapt global AML/CTF policies to local laws and operational realities meeting industry best practices
  • Oversee design, implementation, and effectiveness of AML/CFT controls including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and suspicious transaction reporting
  • Identify emerging risks in digital payments and platform financial activity to enhance policies, systems, and governance
