You'll lead the FinCrime Core team responsible for Ebury's AML platform in a critical, regulated domain. This work directly impacts sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory compliance across FCA, EU AML directives, and global requirements.
The platform processes millions of screening requests and payment events, demanding high reliability, low latency, and strong audit trails. Own the AML Screening and Transaction Monitoring domain, setting the 0–6 month technical roadmap and driving architecture decisions for event-driven systems like Kafka, SNS/SQS. Champion observability with comprehensive logging, metrics, and alerting in this regulated environment.
Lead a team of engineers at varying levels, creating stability and psychological safety while managing performance, well-being, coaching, and career development. Act as primary liaison between engineering and product for full alignment, communicating progress and escalating issues. Balance team delivery, sprint planning, project health, and capacity with roadmap demands.
Foster a culture of ownership, feedback, and continuous improvement while hiring, growing, and retaining high-performing engineers. Requirements
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
- Recent hands-on experience (within the last 5 years) as a Tech Lead or Senior+ Engineer
- Experience with agile development processes
- Excellent communication
Responsibilities
