About this role

This is a pivotal role within Vanguard's Anti-Financial Crime function, safeguarding European businesses against financial crime risks. You will carry significant responsibility for oversight, framework development, and cross-functional influence.

Day-to-day, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Financial Crime framework. This includes governance, policy management, regulatory reporting, enterprise-wide risk assessments, testing, and monitoring activities to ensure effective identification and mitigation of risks.

You will work closely with first and second line of defence teams, building strong partnerships that foster transparency and risk awareness. The role sits at the centre of regulatory change, translating new requirements into practical, business-ready processes across our European footprint.

This is an opportunity to shape and strengthen our AFC framework against global standards while contributing to change programmes and cross-functional working groups. The role offers exposure to board-level reporting, audits, and strategic initiatives in a highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF, Sanctions, ABAC, Anti-Tax-Evasion and wider financial crime frameworks
  • Experience in governance, policy, risk assessments, testing, or monitoring within Financial Crime or Compliance
  • Ability to interpret regulation and translate it into practical business processes
  • Sharp analytical skills with the ability to turn complexity into clear insights
  • Confident communicator with proven stakeholder management experience across teams and geographies
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable juggling priorities

Responsibilities

  • Help evolve and strengthen the AFC Framework, keeping it aligned with global standards and regulatory expectations
  • Shape and refine AFC policies, standards, procedures, and guidance materials
  • Provide analytical muscle for enterprise and product-level financial crime risk assessments, including BWRA and thematic reviews
  • Support oversight of ABAC and Anti-Tax-Evasion initiatives as the operating model is refreshed
  • Play a key role in AFC testing and assurance work, executing tests, spotting control gaps, and driving follow-up actions
  • Deliver clear, actionable guidance to stakeholders navigating Financial Crime requirements
  • Contribute to AFC change programmes, ensuring deliverables meet regulatory and business expectations
  • Prepare materials for AFC forums, board sessions, audits, and regulatory touchpoints
