About this role

As a Capital Markets Associate, you will manage and negotiate equity and equity-linked off-board, large-scale transactions on behalf of CII - Capital International Investors, CRGI - Capital Research Global Investors, and CWI - Capital World Investors. You will lead investment groups through Capital Group’s equity capital markets process and keep them informed of public and private liquidity events. Work closely with internal teams to achieve better-than-historical outcomes for shareholders.

Negotiate and manage all IPO and Secondary transactions from pre-deal dialogue to execution. Maintain regular dialogue with the banking community to identify upcoming liquidity events. Read internal research across the three units and attend weekly investment group meetings to spot relevant opportunities.

Anticipate potential liquidity events based on public information and outline them to PMs and Analysts individually or as a group. Take leadership on private transactions and opportunities once cleared by Legal. Collaborate with internal constituents including PMs & Analysts, Legal, Trading, and Investment Control, while building external networks with Banking, Syndicate, Venture, and Sponsors.

Requirements

  • Experience managing equity capital markets transactions for investment groups
  • Proven ability to negotiate IPOs, secondaries, and equity-linked deals
  • Strong relationships with banking, syndicate, venture, and sponsor counterparts
  • Skill in analyzing investment research and identifying liquidity opportunities
  • Familiarity with leading teams through ECM processes
  • Knowledge of public and private liquidity events
  • Ability to collaborate with PMs, Analysts, Legal, Trading, and Investment Control
