Ares Management is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal to join the Global Capital Solutions team. The role focuses on sourcing and structuring financing across an array of products including portfolio leverage, fund level leverage, and single asset back-leverage. This position requires a dynamic, adaptive, hands-on professional to ensure best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Day-to-day involves leading discussions and negotiations with banks and insurance markets to source various leverage solutions such as NAV facilities and warehousing. The professional will also syndicate deals by building relationships with lenders and evaluating financing for the European market, especially Direct Lending. Partnering with internal groups drives transactions from term sheet to closing.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in structured finance, direct lending, or specialty finance, with strong focus on asset-backed facilities
  • Finance and financial services background
  • Deep network of relationships across European banking and lending partners
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing and executing ABL or structured credit deals
  • Strong analytical and structuring skills with fluency in fund return modeling specific to leverage transactions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deals and stakeholders under tight deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Lead discussions and negotiations with banks and insurance markets to source portfolio leverage
  • Source fund level leverage including NAV and warehousing facilities
  • Source single asset back-leverage for private equity assets, preferred or structured equity deals, and credit deals
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential lenders
  • Evaluate and structure financing transactions and debt capital needs for the European market, especially European Direct Lending
  • Partner with fund portfolio managers, internal credit, legal and other groups to drive transactions from term sheet to closing
  • Monitor market trends and identify emerging financing solutions
  • Represent the firm at industry events and conferences
