About this role
Leveraged Finance Credit supports the development, due diligence, approval and implementation of leveraged transactions for corporate and financial sponsors. Typical transactions include leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalizations, and restructurings. This role builds experience across the full credit life cycle in the leveraged finance market.
Assist with review of due diligence, assessment of forecasts, building of models, and writing of credit memoranda. Maintain timely and accurate monitoring including risk ratings, financial reports, compliance certificates, forecasts, and annual reviews. Ensure adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures while developing understanding of core documentation across loans and derivatives.

Requirements
- Relevant experience with a major financial institution, preferably on or having completed a graduate scheme or equivalent program
- Corporate credit background, with leveraged finance experience preferred but not compulsory
- Credit risk awareness and understanding of risk drivers on appetite, exposures and ratings
- Experience in financial modeling and forecast assessment for leveraged transactions
- Knowledge of leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalizations, and restructurings
- Ability to analyze due diligence and write credit memoranda
Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior members of the department, building experience in the leveraged finance market and provide support at all stages of the credit life cycle
- Assist with the review of due diligence, assessment of forecasts and/or building of models, and writing of credit memorandum
- Provide guidance regarding drivers of loan returns and profitability
- Establish and maintain a deep understanding of the portfolio at the client, industry, and macro level to assess risk and form considered opinions
- Maintain timely and accurate monitoring including risk ratings, financial reports, compliance certificates, forecasts, and annual reviews
- Ensure adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures
- Develop an understanding of core documentation across loans and derivatives
- Participate in strategic projects to support both team and business goals
